eLearning

The eLearning Team was established in January 2004. The team is responsible for providing and maintaining the University's central elearning service. For many this means WebCT but a range of products, such as Questionmark Perception, form a wider system known as the institutional virtual leaning environment (iVLE).

The team provide support to schools through training courses, forums and consultation with support and academic staff. The webLearn website gives information on and access to all elearning activities.

Remit

The remit of the eLearning team is to provide support to schools and corporate services in the use and development of elearning. In particular the team:

  • provides the central elearning service
  • provides advice, training and support in the use of elearning facilities
  • supports and facilitates the creation of elearning materials
  • supports initiatives managed by other parts of Academic Services
  • advises Corporate Services and the University as a whole on strategic matters relating to elearning
